Tilney has poached Rathbones’ managing director of international business development Maurice Keane in a double raid on its rival.

Keane joins as head of international business development in the company’s Tilney for Professionals arm, reporting to head of business development Craig Wright.

Keane had worked at Rathbones since 2017 and prior to this spent 11 years at Standard Chartered, latterly as head of international banking for Europe and Jersey.

Tilney has also recruited Jeremy Bezant from Rathbones, where he had been a director of international business development since 2018. He joins as a business development manager and will focus on product development and fund distribution.

Bezant has formerly had stints at Janus Henderson, Alliance Bernstein and Neuberger Berman.

Wright said: ‘Tilney for Professionals has a long history of supporting our international clients and it is vital we have the very best team in place to do this. I am very excited to welcome Maurice and Jeremy to our International team as they both have significant experience dealing with overseas IFAs and understand the many nuances of servicing a global client base.’

Tilney completed its merger with Smith & Williamson last week and announced its first hire as a combined entity, recruiting John Bunch for the newly created role of chief commercial officer.
